Every time I try opening it, it crashes. When I actually get through, the first test wont even work.

Wouldnt work

It wont accept that I have ear buds plugged it.

Palm wing nonflying Flong fall

Doesnt work with iOS 7 / iPhone 5S

Could not get the app to work.

Crashes

Step 4 of the hearing test having to do with the headphones remains greyed out. Test cant be started.

Broken in iOS7 - Needs update or removal

Audio tests just cause spp to crash in iOS7. ;(

No longer works

Just tried to use this with iOS 6.x and it crashes as the set the volume screen, unable to start the test.

Crap

The app doesnt allow tests to be done...nothing happens when app is opened. Unable to choose headphone type or set volume (choices are greyed out). Then it constantly crashes. Worthless.

Frozen so couldnt try it

None of the tests work on iPhone5, options grayed out so unable to select headset type, start, etc. Delete, reinstall, reboot, etc no help. Have to conclude this app is buggy.

Please update to be compatible w/ 7.0

Very helpful app

Doesnt play well on my phone

I have an iPhone 5s, and the app wouldnt let me get past the "adjust volume" section. If I adjusted using volume control the app crashed, if I tried to use the slider it wouldnt budge. Finally adjusted earphones outside app and got the tone part working by random tapping - says I have considerable loss - but cant get the other test to work at all. Very frustrating, and the support button here gives a 404 message. So nonexistent. Therefore, 1 star from me. Its a new phone, no reason for this experience.

Abandoned software apparently

No longer works.

Does not work on iOS 7

Downloaded on the recommendation of my doctor but it wont work on my iPhone 5/ iOS7. Crashes repeatedly and wont actually start any of the tests.

Doesnt work with new operating system

Use this recently after a long time. It simply does not work anymore. Im guessing it is because of the operating system updates.

Results VERY close to my pro tests

Update 7/8/14: This app works with iOS 7 and the iPhone 5s! To set the volume just move your finger around near the graphic until the bottom selection becomes available. The touch interface isnt lining up with the graphic. Yep, it needs a major upgrade and complete code rewrite. Back to my original review two years before this update: Im 61 and woke up one morning with a humming like a microwave fan in my left ear and severe hearing loss. Five days later the ENT was treating me with steroid injections into the inner ear. High tones recovered but low tones didnt. Probably a virus attacked the main nerve. Anyway, I now have tennitis and the left hear hums constantly but is generally decreasing. Ive been to 3 professional hearing tests in the past 6 weeks. The last graph from those tests looks a LOT like the results in my first Uhear test. Im using Sony Pro headphones with an iPhone 4S and testing in a bathroom for a sound booth. I can still faintly hear outside noises such as distant aircraft landing and taking off so that doesnt help. However, there are no material differences in the Uhear results from the professional results. The low tones in my left ear show severe loss and everything else in both ears show normal to mild loss. Considering the I grew up in the San Francisco Bay Area in the 60s and attended way too many rock events this is pretty good. I would love to try this in the audiologists soundbooth. Ill report back if I get the chance to do that.

Soooo Worth It!!!

Definitely worth the time. One request... Can you please fix the bug that causes for my iPhone to crash when I attempt to erase previous results. Thanks.

Dead App?

I think this app is dead. I tried to install. It says "open" but does not run. The icon is not present on the UI. The reviews are several years old. The App Support link is dead. How do I get the bits and pieces of its install off of my phone?

Worked well months ago

Test no longer works. Crashes frequently. Worked well Feb 2014. Perhaps this is something that started with later releases of iOS 7.

Time for developer to update app

It dont work with IOS 7 or 8.

This was a great hearing test app

This new update has ruined an excellent hearing test app. I have tracked my hearing loss with the previous version for 4 years. The hearing sensitivity results were spot on with professionally conducted audiograms. The new update added a great new user interface, but the hearing test is now unusable, A clicking sound is produced with the tones. I cannot hear frequencies well above 4k. At 6k even less at 8k sound is gone. However, the new test produces clicking noises at the start and stop of the tones. I can’t hear the high tones, but I hear the clicking. There also seems to be some false overtones that are produced with my problem frequencies. I’m not sure if I’m hearing anything or not…this makes the test all but unusable. I have used the previous version for years with stellar results, so I don’t think it’s me, it’s the new version. Thankfully I have the old version on an old iPod. I will go back to using the iPod instead of my new iPhone.
